It's a very typical fall morning in the pacific northwest today with rain and wind affecting us all. As I finish my morning coffee, I am reflecting on the how this season will affect my as well as everyone's home. The single largest investment we hold. Weather impacts our houses more than just about anything else except maybe for lack of maintenance. It is not all that difficult to stay on top of the things that we pass by every day like cleaning the roof and gutters, trimming plants and trees and touching up paint and caulking but it is not so easy to keep up on the other things affecting our houses like crawlspace issues and attic issues. Rot, mold and rodent damage as well as plumbing leaks and like cause more damage out of view than just about any other things that I see day to day. Several hundred-dollar repairs become many thousand-dollar repairs in a rather short amount of time. It is imperative that these issues are found and remedied quickly before they spiral out of control. You should have a professional inspector such as myself come out and crawl around the attic and crawlspace of your house and this is a great time to do it.
